I've been fortunate to have had good mentors through my corporate term as well as in my networking career. You have to know that to become your best, in anything, you always need a coach; someone who will consistently push you into your "uncomfortable" zone and not always say what you want to hear, but rather what you NEED to hear. That is the mark of a good coach and mentor!
So, become a student of the industry. Learn about people, sales, psychology, management, marketing and branding. Most of all, learn about yourself, who you are, where you want to go and what you are willing to do to get there.
